Meanwhile: up the Mountain

 

Crystal Guardian runs up and grabs for the annoying small dragon.

Rorn snaps at the Crystal Guardian.

Rorn gives a baby dragon roar.

Crystal Guardian is impervious to the flames he grabs again and nearly catches him.

Talia Sunsong, hearing Rorn cry, runs up the hillside.

Rorn tries to burn the Crystal Guardian with flames but the flames bounce off the crystal body.

Savage Taurus: “Come back, son!! Where are you going, boy?”

Hearing footsteps the Crystal Guardian turns.

Rorn dodges the large crystal hands.

Talia Sunsong “Don’t you touch that baby dragon!"

Savage Taurus: slithers up the mountain as fast as his snake body can go

Prime Elemental CG grunts and ignores the new people.

Talia Sunsong runs up the rock hillside to find Rorn in castle ruins, surrounded by crystal guardians.

Savage Taurus: “Dang, boy! Yer gonna be the death a me!”

Crystal Guardian 2 turns to look at the new arrivals.

Crystal Guardian makes another grab and barely misses.

Savage Taurus enters the ruins and finds them surrounded by a horde of the crystal elementals.

Crystal Guardian 2 slaps at one of the people and misses.

Rorn squeaks and flies up.

Savage Taurus: “Gezzuuuhhh....there's more of 'em???”

Talia Sunsong: "Look at all of them!"

Crystal Guardian advances on the newcomers.

Talia Sunsong "You stay away, or I'll zap you with my magic wand!" She fumbles in her purse for her wand.

Savage Taurus: immediately starts smashing at the crystal gollums with his massive tail and clenched fists.

Crystal Guardian 2 kicks at the little winged person.

Savage Taurus breathes fire on the creatures with limited success, making them jump back, but not doing significant damage.

Crystal Guardian 2 strikes at the snakelike person.

Talia Sunsong screams and jumps back. "Watch out you overgrown salt crystal."

Crystal Guardian 2 swings menacingly at the little person.

Talia.Sunsong digs out her bent wand and tries to remember a magic spell.

Talia.Sunsong: "Bubble bubble boil and trouble...no. Hey stop trying to hit me!"

Crystal Guardian keeps flailing away at the snaky guy.

Rorn dips and flies, flaming uselessly at the crystal creatures.

Crystal Guardian 2 makes menacing creaking sounds and keeps swinging at the intruder.

Savage Taurus slams his tail into the elementals, knocking them back, even sending pieces of rock flying off of them, but they just reassemble and come back for more.

Talia.Sunsong changes spell "Allacazown! makes this crystal fall down!"

Savage Taurus ducks and dodges furiously, getting overwhelmed by the onslaught of crystal golems that keep advancing relentlessly no matter how many times he knocks them apart.

They advance relentlessly.

Crystal Guardian nearly connects with the snaky guy.

Talia Sunsong bent magic wand sputters to life, sending out a blast of energy that hits the crystal guardian in the chest.

Crystal Guardian 2 shudders and falls to the ground.

Talia Sunsong looked astonished. "It worked! My spell worked!"

My spell worked!

Savage Taurus finds himself being backed into a corner of the ruins as the elementals advance on him.

Crystal Guardian spins and kicks at the intruder but still fails to connect solidly.

Savage Taurus is amazed that this leader of the golems seems to know how to kick, knocking him backward through an open archway.

Rorn flies around, flaming at guardians, trying to help Talia and his father.

Savage Taurus finds himself backed onto a precipice.

Talia Sunsong sees lava flow outside the ruins.

Talia Sunsong "Watch out, the volcano is erupting!”

Crystal Guardian advances on the snaky guy.

Rorn whimpers.

Savage Taurus is pushed back inch by inch onto a natural rock bridge hanging over bubbling magma.

Crystal Guardian presses his advantage following the snake onto the rock bridge.

Savage Taurus fights tooth and nail against the crystal guardian, but every step forward results in two steps back.

Savage fights tooth and  nail.

Talia.Sunsong tries to help but is blocked by more crystal guardians.

Crystal Guardian rushes the snake and spins another kick and then batters at him with both arms.

Savage Taurus flails his tail wildly at the elemental and breathes until his lungs ache.

Crystal Guardian keeps flailing away wildly.

Savage Taurus: Dang, I can’t get my breath hot enough to melt this son-of-a.....”

Savage Taurus dodges left and then ducks right, thinking he out maneuvered the guardian, but then to his surprise takes a solid kick to the chest that knocks him right off the bridge and into the bubbling lava below.

Talia.Sunsong: "Noooooooo!"

Noooooooo!

Rorn gives a shrill cry as he sees his father fall into the lava.

Savage Taurus gasps in pain as he is overcome by the thick viscous magma, sinking into it as it burns his flesh.

Crystal Guardian celebrates.

Savage Taurus reaches upward in agony, gazing at his precious son as he keeps sinking, the smell of burning flesh sharp in the air.

Furiously the fae chants "Alacaboom, this magic will be your doom!"

Talia.Sunsong sends the most powerful magic blast she has ever sent towards the Crystal Guardian.

Just as he is about to go under, the necklace around Savage Taurus’s neck flairs up, the red crystal shining brighter than the lava, brighter than the sun.

Crystal Guardian feels a slight prickle and turns to look at the small winged creature.

Talia Sunsong: "Die, damn you!"

Die, damn you!

Crystal Guardian grates something like a laugh and just looks at her.

The red crystal shines brighter and brighter until his neck and head are swallowed by the lava.

Crystal Guardian grunts and takes a step towards the winged one.

Talia Sunsong: "Don't you touch me!"

Just then the pool of magma EXPLODES and a large black form erupts from its depths.

Crystal Guardian hears the sound and turns but too late.

Talia Sunsong startles as a creature explodes from the lava.

A creature explodes from the lava.

Giant black wings flap sending a hot wind rushing across the bridge.

Crystal Guardian staggers back.

The black form raises up and screeches a terrifying roar.

Crystal Guardian raises his fist again.

A massive spiked tail whips out and strikes the crystal guardian with tremendous force then a huge burst of flame erupts from his gaping maw, burning hotter than even the lava surrounding them.

Crystal Guardian falls over the side into the lava pool.

Talia Sunsong backs away from the intense heat.

Crystal Guardian breaks apart in the intense heat.

Crystal Guardian breaks apart.

The monster flaps its bat like wings, propelling it forward, claws and tail lash out in all directions, sending crystals creatures shattering to bits too small to reform, laying broken and dead on the ground finally.

Talia Sunsong "Take that, you crystal bullies!"

The monster breathes over the remains of the crystal guardians, melting them into sludge.

The monster melts them into sludge.

Rorn cheers.

The black creature flaps his wings and soars around the ruins, looking for any stragglers, then flies down and lands next to Rorn and nuzzles the young dragon.

Rorn nuzzles the newly born from the lava creature. "Dada!"

The black dragon licks his young and coos to him affectionately.

Rorn hops around joyously.
